Sringeri Mutt
The Sringeri Mutt, a temple complex is located on the spot where once Adi Guru Sankara lived. Dotted on the north bank of Periyar River two shrines are found within the Mutt here. One is dedicated to Sankaracharya and the other to Goddess Saradamba. The other shrine found here is shrine of Ganapathi where Tamil and Kannada Samrtha Brahmins offer their pujas. The Mutt celebrates a festival namely Navarathri festival which features grand processions and music concert for a duration of ten days. A temple chariot decorated colorfully is the main attraction of the procession. Eminent scholars take part in the Vedic course on the day of Sankara Jayanthi.

Kodanad Elephant Park
Kodanad, an elephant park attracts large number of tourists as well film crew due to its elephant population and the natural beauty. Only elephant training centre in kerala, Kodanad is beautified by the riverside serene landscapes.  Besides viewing the training of the baby elephants, tourist can enjoy an elephant safari here.

The Sri Adi Shankara Keerthi Sthamba Mandapa
The Sri Adi Sankara Keerthi Sthamba Mandapa is a major attraction in Kaladi located at a distance of 45 kilometers away from the Mutt. This eight-storey high Mandapa built by the Kanchi Kamakoti attracts devotees of Sankara due to its sanctity and scenic landscapes.  The series of illustrations depict the life story of the Shnkaracharya. The Paduka Mandapam of the Mutt preserves the wooden sandals of the Acharya.

Malayatoor
Dotted on the slopes of the Kurishumudy hills, the Malayattoor church is a worth visiting site. Said to be blessed with the footsteps of St. Thomas, this church is one of the most visited Christian pilgrimage centers in Kerala. The main features of the church are the footprint of St. Thomas implanted on a rock and the life-size statue of the saint. Pilgrims have to trek 2 kilometers to reach this holy church. The Malayattoor festival celebrated during March/April attracts thousands of devotees.  The architecture of the church is stunning.

Crocodile Ghat
The Crocodile Ghat or ‘Muthala Kadavu’ stands near the Mutt has a story related to young Sankara and his mother. Once a crocodile caught the leg of Sankara while taking bath in the river, he requested his mother to let him lead a life of sanyasa (ascetic), his mother granted to relieve the drag of the crocodile.

Sri Krishna Temple
Believed to the temple of Sankaracharya this temple is a worth visiting one to the pilgrims. Run by two Nambuthiri families, it still maintains a Hindu temple culture.
