Beach city Kannur has lots of travel attractions, yet the main tourist attractions in Kannur are :

Muzhappilangad Beach

Muzhappilangad Beach :
This spectacular beach of Kannur is jus 15 kilometers from the city center of Kannur. One can have sun bath at its shadowed rocky surroundings and the beach is vibrant enough to make one’s beach tour an enjoyable one. It is safe for the tourists for water entertainments and swimming. This is nick-named as lover’s paradise as couples always prefer this beach to frolic in its rocky surroundings.

Ezhimala Beach

Ezhimala Beach :
Seven hills add extra beauty to this beach located at an elevation of over 286, above sea level. This beach is home to medicinal plants and herbs, engraved stone pillars and caves. An ancient mosque is located on a hillock adjacent to the beach.

Gundert Bungalow :
Gundert bungalow is named after the renowned German scholar, Dr. Herman Gundert who spent a 20 year period of his life in this bungalow. This has other historical significance like the first ever Malayalam dictionaries and the first Malayalam Newspaper “Paschimodayam” were created from this bungalow.

Pythal Mala

Pythal Mala :
Pythal Mala is an amazing hill station that offers 6 kms long trekkers trail. Adventure freaks can trek to this hill station located on the border areas of Kerala and Karnataka.

Perched at 4500ft above sea level, trekkers can climb the rocks and to reach the watch tower which overlooks the beautiful valley beneath.

Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary :
Aralam Wildlife sanctuary covers an area of 55 square kilometers. The antique variation of the sanctuary varies from 50 meters to 1145 meters, its vegetation and greenery house lots of rare animals. The sanctuary is included within the Central State Farm, which spreads 3060m hectors of land of coconut seed production.

Dharmadam Island

Dharmadam Island :
Seems to be like a mirage from the mainland this island is a worthvisiitng place in Kannur. Decked with coconut palms and lush greenery, Dharmadam Island can pacify one’s adventure and romantic spirit. One can explore its rich vegetation and the rich vistas of nature.

St. Angelo's Fort

St. Angelo's Fort :
A symbol of Portuguese colony in Kannur, Angelo Fort still keeps its grace and elegance. It was erected in 1505 by Don Francisco De Almeida, pioneer among the Portuguese Viceroys in Kerala. It was reserved by the British and finally the Archeological Survey of India declares it as a property for reservation. The fort faces the Moppila Bay and enchanting natural beauties.

Payyambalam Beach

Payyambalam Beach :
Payyambalam beach is just 2 kilometers from the city and a must-see destination when you are in Kannur. It is a most soothing beach suitable for romantic escapade.

Mural Paintings at Todikkalam Temple :
Murals paintings, typical South Indian Murals are seen at Todikkalam Temple.  The motifs of the paintings are Hindu mythological themes, lifestyle of the common people. The beautifully decorated pillars of the temple are also stunning.

Thalassery Fort :
Thalassery fort is perched on the top of a hill dates back to 18th century. It is remarkable for its heightened walls and bastions.
