How to Reach Lakshadweep

Though Lakshadweep islands are located separately from the mainland India in middle of Arabian Sea, yet one can reach an island of Lakshadweep by sea or by air.

By Air :
Cochin International Airport located in the south Indian state Kerala is linked to Lakshadweep by air. The domestic terminal of Kochi has flight service to Agatti Airport, the only airport in Lakshadweep. One can fly from overseas to Kochi and then to Agatti. During monsoon helicopter service is operated from Agatti to Bangaram Island Resort and to Kavaratti throughout the year. The timing taken by a flight to fly to Agatti from Kochi is about one and half hour. Flight service is available in six days of a week.
Agatti Aerodrome is operated by Airports Authority of India.
By Sea :
One can reach Lakshadweep by ships also. The passenger ships operate between Kochi and Agatti are MV Tippu Sultan, MV Bharat Seema, MV Amindivi and MV Minicoy. The ship journey takes about 14 to 20 hours. The accommodation types of the ships are A/C Deluxe Class with two berth cabins, A/C First Class with four berth cabins and Tourist Class with A/C seating. In MV Tipu Sultan and MV Bharat Seema, the facilities are cafeteria and snack bars, entertainment lounge, video shows and upper-deck promenade, etc. MV Amindivi and MV Minicoy also have comfortable A/C accommodation.
